Black Rock Power CO-OP

Black Rock co-op 2013

Black Rock Power co-op is an autonomous group of camps that share electrical power from one grid. This power sharing arrangement allows the camps to run a single whisper quiet generator to power the needs of the various camps. This arrangement eliminates noise from loud generators, pollution, lowers fuel usage and creates a more stable power source.

Black Rock Power emerged from Brain Freeze in 2012, when Burning Man decided the unique arrangement suited their needs by calling it a village, because it was the closest term that fit the idea.
