Brain Freeze

Brain Freeze at Night
Brain Freeze / Got Stickers Camp is an established Burning Man Theme Camp which began in 2004 and has grown in size each year. In the past we have resided within other Villages. In 2012 we evolved into the Black Rock Power CO-OP.

Our camp location has been traditionally at the corner of 4:30 and A streets, There are many benefits to camping with us. They include a power grid that is live 24/7, a large community shade structure and a 40 foot tower that offers a view of the City few have seen. We have the World’s Most Dangerous Bar that serves frozen margaritas and we will have a “camp fire” of sorts. For entertainment we will have Old Sparky, the electric chair and the World’s Most Dangerous BBQ. We have the experience of many years preparing a camp and the resources needed to insure its infrastructure meets our needs. While there is no guarantee from year to year, we have been lucky to always have a prime location within the city. We do not have a central kitchen or shower so everyone must plan accordingly.

The primary members of the camp are Black Rock FX. We bring fireworks and special effects to the Playa. We have done shows for the Flaming Lotus Girls, Rock Opera, Crude Awakening, Raygun Gothic Rocketship, Megatropolis. In 2011 we burned the Trojan Horse. Several members of our camp are on the Burning Man staff and hold positions on the Fire Art Safety Team (FAST), assisting artists in creating dangerous art, safely.

We expect you to be cordial to the many guests that visit our camp each day. Your guests and friends are always welcome to visit, but you are responsible for their behavior. Each member of your group must contribute to the overall effort. This contribution could come in many forms; Infrastructure, Art, Labor, & Sustenance, are just a few suggestions.

Camp Expectations

We expect you to be cordial to the many guests that visit our camp each day. Your guests and friends are always welcome to visit, but you are responsible for their behavior. Each member of your group must contribute to the overall effort. This contribution could come in many forms; Infrastructure, Art, Labor, & Sustenance, are just a few suggestions. Below is a partial list of tasks required to make the camp function:

Camp Set up: This will require an early arrival pass and take at least two days and requires a lot of physical work. If you have the time and are available to help with setup but do not have an early arrival pass let us know, there is a chance we can help you obtain one.

Camp Strike: This will be done Monday morning. Camp Strike is an All Hands effort. It will begin Monday morning, no later than 10:00 am. If you are not able to assist in camp strike, this is NOT the camp for you.

Daily Camp Cleanup: Each person is responsible for his or her own area as well as the communal areas of the camp. This is NOT voluntary! Our goal is to remain all-green on the Burning Man Moop map. We are proud we do this every year.

Site Cleanup: After the camp has been totally removed we need to clean the entire area. This will require 2-3 hours and take place late on Monday morning.

Black Rock FX: You may also volunteer to work a show. This year it will be Friday during the day and into the evening as we prepare for the burns Black Rock FX does throughout the week.

Camp Fees

Tent & Yurt Camping

There is a camp fee of $40.00 per person.

We have two options, a tent or a tent or yurt with air conditioning. The major difference is how much power you are consuming. You are expected to supply your own 20-50 foot, three-prong 15 amp extension cord to plug into the grid.

RV Camping Fee

We supply 30 amp service to RVs and trailers. We expect you to supply a 50 foot 30 amp cable to plug into one of our junction boxes. If your RV is 50 amp, please bring a 50amp (f) to 30amp (m) adapter.

We contract with Site Services at Burning Man to schedule a pump out of your holding tank on Wednesday and Saturday. It is more convenient if you pay in advance so everyone knows how many RVs are expected to be serviced. It is a huge hassle getting them to pump even one extra RV, even with cash in hand.
